While not common for business travel, we understand that pets
are part of your family and play an important part in your life. Over
the last few years, hotels have become more welcoming to pets and
created easier policies around pets in their hotels. Finding a
pet-friendly hotel is not always an easy task, so be sure to check with
your individual hotel on their respective fees and policies regarding
pets.
A few highlighted chains and their pet policies are highlighted below:
Hilton: Over 5,000 of Hilton’s hotels
in the United States and Canada are pet-friendly including Canopy, Tru,
Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites, and
Embassy Suites. Fees apply and vary by hotel.
Hyatt: From special amenities to plush pet beds, Hyatt’s 600+ hotels
make it easy to bring your pet on the road with you. The Park Hyatt in
Chicago donates the entirety of traveler’s $100 pet fee to the PAWS
animal shelter. This hotel also has a resident pug named Parker at the
hotel.
Kimpton Hotels: Kimpton, an IHG brand,
allows pets at no extra charge, no matter size, weight, or breed.
Kimpton also provides a selection of pet amenities including plush
pet-beds, food and water bowls and mats. They also have a concierge list
of nearby pet-friendly restaurants, parks, groomers, and more. There
are also door hangers alerting staff that there’s a pet in your room and
easy to use courtesy bags for dog walks outside.
Candlewood Suites: Candlewood Suites
are also part of the IHG brand, and they allow pets at all of their
locations. After booking, call the hotel directly to give them your
reservation confirmation number and ask them to add your pet to the
reservation. To keep all our guests happy, including those not traveling
with four-legged friends, some restrictions apply.
Holiday Inn & Holiday Inn Express: Holiday Inn hotels
don’t have a specific one-size fits all pet policy. Many of their
hotels do accept pets, but if you’re not sure if the one you’re staying
at does, it’s best to contact the property directly or search on IHG’s
website.
Marriott: Over 1,500 Marriott hotels
in the United States are pet-friendly including all Residence Inn
properties. Westin hotels offer travelers with pets a plush Heavenly dog
bed and other special amenities free of charge.
Choice Hotels: Choice
has over 3,500 pet-friendly hotels across the United States. Choice’s
pet-friendly hotels allow up to two dogs per room. Some of Choice’s
pet-friendly hotels may offer extra amenities like pet food, dishes,
water bowls, and play areas. Policies like breeds and weight
restrictions vary by hotel.
La Quinta: La Quinta, a Wyndham brand, allows up to two pets (cats and dogs) per room at 800+ properties in designated pet-friendly rooms.
