The General Services Administration (GSA) announced new
federal per diem reimbursement rates for fiscal year (FY) 2025. Per diem
rates consist of a maximum lodging allowance component and a meals and
incidental expenses (M&IE) component. Non-standard areas (NSAs) are
frequently traveled by the federal community and are reviewed by the GSA
on an annual basis. Standard CONUS locations are less frequently
traveled by the federal community. Highlights for FY25 include: The
M&IE per diem tiers for FY 2025 increasing at $68-$92, with the
standard M&IE rate now at $68. The base lodging rate also saw a
small increase moving from $107 to $110.
For the 2025 fiscal year, GSA has cut the number of non-standard
areas to 296 from the 302 in FY24. Locations newly designated as
standard areas for the 2025 fiscal year include Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Canton,
Ohio; Mentor, Ohio; East Greenwich and Warwick, R.I.; Waco, Texas; and
Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
All changes take effect when the new fiscal year begins on October 1.
