CWTSatoTravel has been a proud partner of the Soldiers’ Angels organization for over five years, bringing our offices around the country together each year to participate in a day of service. We have put together holiday stockings, assembled care packages, collected items for hygiene kits, and this year, created paracord bracelets, which are a necessary survival item for deployed service members.
Paracord bracelets started as a way for service members and first responders to carry extra cord in a lightweight and compact manner. They were used in parachutes during World War II and are made out of “550 cord,” meaning that it has a minimum breaking strength of 550 pounds. Today service members may use the paracord as a clothesline, lanyard, bow drill to make fire, knife handle, cord to bundle firewood, bootlaces and much more.
We are proud of our partnership with the Soldiers’ Angels organization and are always looking for ways to work together to ensure that “no soldier goes unloved.”
In addition to this partnership, CWTSatoTravel will also be raising money throughout October for Mission 22, a non-profit organization that works to reduce veteran suicides through veteran treatment programs, memorials and national awareness campaigns. For every hotel booking made through CWTSatoTravel under the DoD Preferred Commercial Lodging pilot rate (XVL), FedRooms rate (XVU) and CWTSatoTravel Hotel Program rate (SGV), CWTSatoTravel will donate $0.20 per consumed room night revenue to Mission 22. Additionally, three hotel partners, IHG, Hilton and Choice have agreed to either match our contribution or donate a one-time contribution. We also plan to open donations to our employees as we seek to meet our goal to raise $20,000 in October. In honor of Veteran's Day, we will donate the total funds raised for Mission 22 in November.
