Several airlines in the United States offer pre-boarding for active-duty military service members and their dependents. See the full list of airlines below as the military early boarding policies differ by airline.
American Airlines
American invites active-duty military personnel with a military I.D. to board in Group One.
United Airlines
United allows active-duty military members to board with their pre-boarding group. Included in this group are those in Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Space Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, cadets of the Air Force Academy, West Point, Naval Academy, Merchant Marine Academy, and Coast Guard Academy. Also included are commissioned officers corps of the US Public Health and NOAA, members who have been discharged within 7 days of scheduled travel.
Delta Air Lines
Delta offers benefits to active members of the United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Coast Guard, we’re proud to offer military benefits on travel. With boarding, Delta allows these active-duty members to board with Comfort+ passengers.
Southwest Airlines
Southwest invites all active-duty military members to board between the A and B groups. This invitation is extended to those military members who are both in uniform and not in uniform with a valid military ID.
JetBlue Airways
JetBlue allows active-duty military personnel to board between their A and B groups prior to general boarding.
Alaska Airlines
Alaska Airlines invites U.S. military personnel to pre-board flights. Alaska considers current service members as current members of the military who serve or may be called to serve, and includes: the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marines, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Coast Guard, National Guard, and U.S. Military Reserves; Cadets of the Air Force Academy, West Point, Naval Academy, Coast Guard Academy, and Merchant Marine Academy; and, Commissioned Corps and Ready Reserve Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and Commissioned Officer Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Officer Corps. To verify your status, Alaska will accept either a Common Access Card (CAC) with a uniformed services or academy affiliation, or an Armed Forces of the United States Identification Card with an active duty, reserve, guard, or academy affiliation.
Spirit Airlines
Spirit Airlines offers priority boarding for active-duty military and their spouses and children when traveling with their service members.
Allegiant Airlines
Allegiant invites active military members along with veterans and their dependents to board with other pre-boarding groups.
Frontier Airlines and Breeze Airways
Frontier and Breeze do not currently offer early military boarding for travelers.
