CWTSatoTravel had the opportunity to attend and sponsor a booth at the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) yearly GovTravels conference in Alexandria, Virginia last month. This symposium is an interactive event where decision makers from government and industry come together to meet, learn, and collaborate on all aspects of the travel industry.
The theme for this year was: “Shaping the Future Traveler Experience.” The three-day conference was jam-packed with general and breakout sessions for all attendees to learn about a multitude of topics. Major hotel chains, airlines, government organizations had booths with representatives to meet and answer all attendees’ questions.
Over 25 members of our CWTSatoTravel Travel Experience, Customer Management, SATO Groups, Marketing, Hotel Programs and Product & Services teams attended the conference to represent CWTSatoTravel and interact with our customers. CWTSatoTravel president Nick Vournakis was invited to speak as a panelist for the third year in a row on the main industry panel, “Innovation in Government Travel in 2020 and Beyond.” Members of our team also participated in three breakout sessions including:
- Travel Measurements: Travel Data and Performance Metrics by Justin Cooper.
- A panel on Technology Trends to Make the Traveler’s Journey Easier with CWT’s Utpal Kaul.
- Updates from Kindall Farewell on Government-Wide TDY Lodging Contract for Industry in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA) for FedRooms and the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) for DoD Preferred Lodging.
CWTSatoTravel was also a recipient of a 2019 NDTA Distinguished Service Award in recognition of our support of the goals and aims of NDTA. Overall the conference was a success and CWTSatoTravel looks forward to participating again next year.
